  User Case study of Reprographics Print Lab located at Pratt Institute. Prompted to observe and study user experiences of the space. Designed a digital alteration website to improve the user experience.



Space distribution:

The Reprographics Lab is located on the 4th floor of the Design Center at Pratt Institute. The lab serves as a printing, cutting and binding resource for undergraduate and graduate students.

Users:1/ Undergraduate & Graduate Students

Goals: To print presentations, essays, booklets for classes and personal requirements.

Frustrations: Lack of knowledge about usingmachines, large expenses and long queues add to the stress around finals.
2/ Student workers & Technician

Goals: To trouble-shoot during difficulties, handle appointments and payments and manage custom paper printing.

‍Frustrations:Constant help required by students, busy schedule, overcrowding.
3/ Undergraduate &  Graduate Faculty

Goals: To print teaching materials for classes and personal requirements.
Frustrations:
Lack of knowledge about using machines and overcrowding makes process time-consuming.
4/ Admin Office Employees


Goals:
To print posters and invitations for events.


Frustrations: Wait time due to pre-booked appointments for prints.


Digital Alteration of Space to Improve User Experience:


An online space is designed to support students in conveniently reserving machines and scheduling appointments without conflicts of going in-person.
